Too Good To Go Payment Failed? Causes and Fixes

Troubleshoot a failed Too Good To Go payment, duplicate pending authorization, expired card, bank verification, app issue, or lost reservation.

A Too Good To Go payment can fail because the card details are outdated, the bank declines or requests verification, the payment service times out, the app session is stale, or the bag sells out during checkout. First determine whether an order exists—do not immediately repeat payment several times.

1. Check the order screen and email

Look for a confirmed reservation and pickup window in the current app. Also check the email address associated with the account. A loading error after payment does not always mean the reservation failed.

If no order exists, return to the listing once. If an order exists, do not place a duplicate merely because the original screen looked stuck.

2. Check for a pending card authorization

A pending authorization is not always a completed charge. Card issuers can temporarily reserve an amount while a transaction is processed or reversed. Too Good To Go's current US user terms explain that the reservation price may be reserved on the associated payment method and that payment processing can vary.

If the app shows no order but the card shows a pending amount, save screenshots and allow the issuer's normal pending-transaction process. Contact official support and the bank if it does not resolve.

3. Verify the payment method

Check the expiration date, billing details, available balance, and whether the issuer allows online or card-not-present purchases. A replaced card may retain the same account in your wallet but require updated credentials.

If the bank requests an authentication step, complete it promptly. Repeatedly retrying can create more pending authorizations or trigger issuer fraud controls.

4. Refresh the app safely

Use a stable connection, update the Too Good To Go app through the official app store, and sign in again if the session appears stale. Do not uninstall until you know how to recover the account and can verify existing orders.

Check the official Too Good To Go support page for current platform-specific steps. BagRescue cannot reverse or refund a Too Good To Go payment.

5. Understand the sold-out race

The bag may have been available when checkout began and gone by the time payment was attempted. In that case, changing cards will not restore inventory. Choose another store or wait for the next release.

Our guide to why bags say sold out instantly explains the race. If timing is the repeated problem, compare TGTG scanners and alerts.

6. Gather evidence before support

Record the store, listing, intended pickup date, approximate time, amount, order identifier if present, and the last four digits or wallet used. Include screenshots of the app status and pending charge, but never email a full card number, security code, password, or authentication token.

Use Too Good To Go's official support route for a marketplace payment. For cancellation and refund distinctions, read refunds, cancellations, and missed pickups.

If BagRescue attempted the reservation

Review the BagRescue activity and Too Good To Go order screens before taking action. An automated attempt is still subject to Too Good To Go availability, the payment provider, and the card issuer. BagRescue does not guarantee checkout and cannot force a declined bank transaction.

Keep one current stored payment method and avoid broad schedules that could produce an unwanted order. If the account requires action, follow the in-product relink or support guidance.

FAQ

Why do I see a charge but no TGTG order?

It may be a pending authorization rather than a completed charge. Confirm the order state, preserve evidence, and contact official support or the issuer if it does not resolve normally.

Should I retry payment immediately?

First check whether an order or pending authorization exists. Multiple rapid attempts can create confusion and do not help if the bag sold out.

Can BagRescue fix a bank decline?

No. Bank authentication, issuer declines, Too Good To Go marketplace transactions, and refunds remain controlled by those parties.

Does payment failure hold the bag?

Do not assume it does. Confirm the order in the app; availability can change during checkout.
