The 30-Day Bag Guarantee: How BagRescue Removes the Risk

If BagRescue doesn't land you a single Too Good To Go bag in 30 days, you're never charged the subscription. Here's exactly how the guarantee works.

TL;DR: Every new BagRescue user gets a 30-day bag guarantee. It's free to start monitoring, then nothing else until BagRescue lands you a bag. If no Too Good To Go bag reaches you within 30 days, the $9.99/month subscription never kicks in — you're never charged.

The bet behind BagRescue is simple: if we save you a bag, we've earned a few bucks. If we don't, you don't pay. The 30-day bag guarantee is how we put that into writing.

There's one model and it's easy to reason about: free to start monitoring, then nothing until your first rescue, then $9.99/month Pro (unlimited stores, full auto-purchase, no per-bag fees). Cancel anytime.

How does the guarantee work?

It's free to start, and your $9.99/month subscription doesn't begin billing until your first bag.

When you sign up, your card is on file but the monthly charge is paused. You add stores, set schedules, and BagRescue starts watching. The clock starts ticking on two things at once:

  1. Your 30-day guarantee window
  2. Our 30-day window to deliver a bag

If a Too Good To Go bag is successfully reserved and picked up during that window, your $9.99/month subscription kicks in from that point. If no bag arrives in 30 days, the subscription auto-cancels and your card is never charged. You don't pay a cent.

You don't have to do anything. There's no email to send, no support ticket. The system simply doesn't start the subscription if it didn't earn the charge.

What do you pay up front?

Nothing. Starting is free — your card goes on file but isn't charged, and your trial is the full Pro experience: unlimited stores, full auto-purchase, no per-bag fees. The first time you pay anything is the $9.99/month Pro subscription, and that only begins after your first successful rescue. Cancel anytime from the billing page.

Why do we offer this?

Two reasons.

First, we're confident the product works. BagRescue watches stores at high frequency and reserves bags the moment they open. For the vast majority of users on active stores with reasonable schedules, the first bag lands well inside the first week. If 30 days pass with nothing, something is wrong — either the store isn't dropping bags, the schedule is off, or we genuinely couldn't deliver. In all of those cases, you shouldn't pay.

Second, food rescue is a casual decision. Most people trying BagRescue are curious but unsure whether it'll actually work for their neighborhood. Removing the financial risk lets you find out without it being a big deal if it doesn't pan out. That's better for you and, honestly, better for us — a happy first bag beats arguing with disappointed users.

What counts as "getting a bag"?

A bag counts when BagRescue successfully reserves it on your Too Good To Go account. That's the moment it shows up in your TGTG app as a confirmed order.

A few things that do NOT count against the guarantee:

  • Bags that were reserved but cancelled by the store (those auto-refund)
  • Bags that we attempted but lost to faster shoppers
  • Bags that landed in your account but you forgot to pick up

The first two protect you. The third is on you — once we deliver, we've done our part. See our pickup confirmation reminders for how we help you not miss windows.

How do I claim the guarantee?

You don't need to. If 30 days pass without a successful bag, the subscription auto-cancels and the card on file is never charged. The cancellation is visible on your billing page.

If you'd rather cancel earlier (say at day 15 because you've decided BagRescue isn't for you), you can do that from the billing page too. Cancelling before your first bag means no charge, ever.

What if no bag arrives?

Nothing happens to your wallet. Starting was free, and the guarantee means the $9.99/month subscription never starts unless we land you a bag. So in the worst case where no bag arrives in 30 days, you've paid nothing at all.

If the option to cancel isn't showing and you think something's off, contact support. We'd rather sort out a borderline case than have someone feel cheated.

What if I want to keep using BagRescue after the guarantee?

You can. Letting the guarantee window lapse doesn't lock you out — you can keep monitoring and BagRescue keeps trying. The 30-day guarantee is once per account, but you're welcome to keep using the service on a paid basis.

If the reason you didn't get a bag was that you only added one store and it rarely drops, the fix is usually to add more stores. See what Too Good To Go is for context on which kinds of stores are most active in most cities.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the guarantee apply if I cancel before 30 days?

Yes. If you cancel before your first bag lands, the $9.99/month subscription never starts and you're never charged it. You pay nothing.

Can I claim the guarantee more than once?

No. It's a one-time, per-account safety net for your first 30 days.

What if I had one bag in 30 days but want out anyway?

The guarantee covers "no bag in 30 days." If we delivered even one bag, the guarantee is satisfied and you're on Pro at the standard $9.99/month. You can always cancel Pro anytime from the billing page.

Does the guarantee apply to Founder's Pricing subscribers?

If you're reading this you probably signed up after the May 2026 cutover, but yes — the trial and guarantee work identically regardless of price tier. See Founder's Pricing for more on legacy rates.

When does the monthly charge start?

Only after your first successful bag. Until then your card is on file but the $9.99/month subscription is paused. If no bag arrives in 30 days, it auto-cancels and never bills.

The short answer: free to start, then nothing until BagRescue lands you a bag. If we don't deliver a bag in 30 days, the $9.99/month subscription never starts and auto-cancels. No friction, no negotiation.
